Add object-in-view and line-crossing counts to Map view

You can enable object counting in Map view. When enabled, each camera view displays the current number of people and vehicles detected by Alta Video video analytics.

The Alta Video object counting features are not guaranteed to be accurate, providing an indicative measure only. Do not rely on object counts for safety-critical applications.

Prerequisites

Create your object-in-view and line-crossing counts. See Create live counts of objects in view and Create counts of objects that cross a line.

Task — object-in-view and line-crossing counts

  1. Choose Tools Tools > Map view Map view.
  2. Toggle Map view into edit mode: Edit mode button
  3. Expand the 123 Counts area.
  4. Drag your required Line crossing and Objects in view counts to the relevant location on your site map.
  5. Toggle Map view into view mode: Edit mode button

When enabled, each camera view shows a live count for the number of people People and vehicles Vehicle identified in each camera view by Alta Video video analytics.

Object counts in Alta Video depend on Alta Video video analytics running on each camera. If a camera is offline, the object counts are shown as 0. Disconnected Alta cameras continue to record count data and send it to Alta Video when reconnected.
